Our bond with companion animals, whether homed (pets) or un-homed (strays), is that of most cherished companionship ever and pure love, bound by no terms and conditions. Those of us who are profoundly bonded with them are badly hit by their passing. We all process the grief of loss in different ways, so, there should be no shame in seeking help. If you want to talk, cry, find strength, lighten your heart, or stand in solidarity with those who have lost their companion animal (homed or un-homed), please join us for the support group meeting on the 24th of July at 2030 hours Indian Standard Time. Write to us at bridgingrainbows.india@gmail.com for the meeting ID and passcode. We bridge time zones, you are welcome to join us from any part of the world. 12 0
On 11th July 2014, a notification popped about a stray dog that had apparently come under a train, in a city 70 kilometres from Baroda. What were the odds of getting help in a remote city? At six in the evening, I was on my way to Nadiad. During the traffic snarls on the highway it struck me that with no contacts, no one to tell me about the dog’s whereabouts, had I made an impulsive decision? 11 0
